Community of Little Falls Town Hall Series scheduled to begin on April 26th

Residents Seek Transparent Dialogue Amid Looming Budget Crisis

Little Falls, NY – Concerned residents in the City of Little Falls invite other members of their community to participate in a vital Community Town Hall on Saturday, April 26 at 2:00 PM at the Little Falls Elks Lodge. This event will mark the first in a series of public discussions centered around issues facing Little Falls residents. This hybrid event will also be accessible online via Zoom.

As Little Falls faces a period of significant financial distress, community leaders are calling for open, transparent conversation and community-driven solutions.

Current Fiscal Realities:

• A $1.34 million obligation in retirement contributions due through 2028
• A $2.8 million General Fund deficit
• The newly adopted 2025 city budget includes:
  • A 6% property tax increase, exceeding the state cap
  • Potential cuts to services and amenities
  • Rising utility costs for residents

“We’re committed to framing these challenges as a community conversation; with our voices as residents at the center of each discussion,” said Erynn Lowery, a city resident, business owner, and collaborator on the Town Hall Event.

What to Expect: A Town Hall That Listens

This is not a one-way presentation. Attendees will engage in rotating discussion groups, diving into topics such as City Budget, Labor Costs, and Spending, Community Impact of Fiscal Decisions, and Public Participation and Transparent Communication. Whether in-person or online, participants will have multiple opportunities to share ideas, raise questions, and help shape a more sustainable and equitable future for Little Falls.

This town hall aims to strengthen public trust, create space for real dialogue, and empower the community to take part in the decisions that shape the city’s future.

“Community involvement is essential,” said Jordyan Mueller, Lead Facilitator for the event. “We believe transparency and collaboration are the first steps to building a stronger city and a promising future for all.”

Residents are encouraged to attend, learn more, and contribute ideas. Together, we can turn today’s challenges into tomorrow’s opportunities. In-person attendance is limited.
