Easter Egg and Potato Dying and Decorating Get Together at the Old Forge Library

The Old Forge Library invites the community to join them for a fun-filled evening of Easter Egg and Potato Dyeing and Decorating on Wednesday, April 16, at 5:00 PM.
This family-friendly event welcomes all ages to drop in and add a splash of color to eggs—and for the first time, to potatoes! It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together with friends and neighbors for a creative, hands-on experience.
Known for its welcoming atmosphere, the Old Forge Library prides itself on hosting multigenerational events that everyone can enjoy. Whether you’re a first-time decorator or an experienced artist, this event will be fun and memorable.
For many, dyeing eggs is a longstanding tradition during the spring holidays.
The library welcomes you to say goodbye to the mess and hassle—leave the dye, vinegar, paper towels, and cleanup to the library staff. The library will provide a wide variety of egg dye colors, crayons, markers, glitter glue, and stickers to help make each creation unique. Participants are asked to bring their own hard-boiled eggs and a container to take them home.
The library will provide the potatoes, so if you want to dye potatoes and start a new springtime tradition, all you need to bring is your creativity and imagination! Dyeing potatoes offers a fun, budget-friendly alternative to eggs, which can be expensive, especially for large families. Potatoes are a great way to get creative without the worry of breaking the bank while still enjoying the festive spirit!
Don’t forget, the Old Forge Library will also host its Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19, at 11 am. The event is free for all, and every child will receive a goody bag. For more information, call the library at 315-369-6008 or email oldforge@midyork.org.
