Open Mic for Writers Returns to the Old Forge Library

Grab your notebook, bring your friends, and join the Old Forge Library for an inspiring night of community voices! The library will host its annual Writers Open Mic Night on Wednesday, August 12, at 6 pm at 220 Crosby Blvd.

Whether you have a polished piece or something fresh off the pen, all local writers are invited to share original poetry, prose, or storytelling in a warm, welcoming setting. Writers wishing to read can simply sign up at the door starting at 6 pm. No pre-registration is needed; just bring your work and your enthusiasm! Community members who simply want to sit back and enjoy the listening are encouraged to come as well.

The evening will be hosted by award-winning poet and educator Jessica Cuello, instructor for this year’s Summer Writers Workshop. Cuello, recipient of the 2025 Adele and Robert Schiff Nonfiction Prize and author of several acclaimed poetry collections, will guide the event and celebrate local literary talent.
