Where We Bloom: Ilion Mural Week Brings Art, Music, and Community to Central Plaza August 25–29, 2025

Ilion, NY – Something big and beautiful is about to blossom in Ilion. Hoffman Wellness Collective, Inc. (HWC), a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, announces Where We Bloom: Ilion Mural Week, a celebration of creativity, connection, and community revitalization taking place August 25–29, 2025 at Central Plaza in the Village of Ilion.

The centerpiece of the week will be the creation of a large-scale mural designed and painted by a “dream team” of regional artists: Eric Cleveland, Angela DeCarlis, Carin Kent, Tino Lopez, David Mentus, Jen Major Quinn, Tony Thompson, Maria Vallese, and Andrea Vedder. The mural will serve as a lasting symbol of resilience, pride, and the power of community collaboration.

Alongside the mural installation, the community is invited to participate in free, family-friendly events each evening at Central Plaza:

• Monday, August 25 – Sparkle & Shine Family Dance Party (5:30–7:00 PM) DJ Joe Natarelli keeps the music going while families enjoy food from the Wiener Wagon. Guests are encouraged to wear sparkles, neon, and flair.
• Tuesday, August 26 – Draw Your Dreams Chalk Event (5:30–7:00 PM) Led by artist Carin Kent, this interactive chalk art event gives participants the chance to showcase their creativity, with prizes awarded.
• Wednesday, August 27 – Outdoor Yoga (6:00 PM, Gazebo) A family-friendly beginner flow yoga class taught by Wendy Urtz-Chapman.
• Thursday, August 28 – Kids Corner (5:30–7:00 PM) Children and families can leave their mark on a collaborative community canvas.

Throughout the week, residents are encouraged to grab dinner locally—from Franco’s, Main Moon, SHOOK. Salads and Açaí, or pack a picnic—and watch the mural come to life.

Where We Bloom is presented by Hoffman Wellness Collective with support from Franco’s Pizza, Golden Artist Colors, Inc., SHOOK. Salads and Açaí, Collis TrueValue Hardware, and Woolner Family Eye Care, along with a grant from The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties. All events are free and open to the public.
