March was a busy month for maple producers across the Mohawk Valley. Starting at the end of February all through this past weekend The maple sap has been flowing and producers have been busy making sweet maple syrup. This past Maple Weekend we visited one of the local producers near us and we are so excited about this week’s featured Mohawk Valley Farm: Millers Mills Maple!

About Millers Mills Maple

Patrick shared, “Making maple syrup has been part of my life since I was growing up near Cazenovia NY, and it has been a family tradition my whole life. Each year we put out about 1,500 taps and through the season make both light and robust maple syrup.”

Millers Mills Maple is nestled on a 300-acre farm that dates back to the 1700’s. Owners Patrick and Karen are the most recent owners of Karen’s family farm. they have participated in NYS Maple Weekends for many years. You can see and hear the enthusiasm and knowledge they have about making maple syrup as they conduct tours and answer the many questions visitors had during our recent Maple Weekend visit.

We have been a maple producing family for over 50 years!
We are traditional maple producers in that we harvest sap from our tress and burn firewood to fuel our maple evaporator
