Mayfield Historical Society Announces New Garden Socializing Group

The Mayfield Historical Society has announced the formation of a gardening/socializing group that will meet twice a month at The Rice Homestead during the summer.

The group is open to all and no gardening experience is necessary.  The aim of the group is to enjoy the camaraderie of working together and having time to socialize.

The group will meet at 9 a.m. on the first and third Mondays of the month for one hour of tending to the Homestead’s gardens and then enjoying refreshments at the picnic tables under the maple trees on the Homestead property.

The first get-together is Monday, August 1st, at 9 a.m.  The gardening will mostly consist of light weeding for just 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour.   All are welcome.  The Rice Homestead is located at 328 Riceville Road, Mayfield, NY.  For more information, call Carol Johnston at 518-332-0538.
