It’s not too late —you can still get fresh local produce at area farmers’ markets and farm stores across the Mohawk Valley! Be sure to find your nearest farmers’ market and stock up!
Taste of CNY
This area favorite is on Saturday, November 2 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at North Star Orchards. Get ready to sample and shop from local vendors at Taste of CNY! Enjoy live music and a variety of FREE activities including children activities, apple tasting, and apple cider samples. Master Gardeners will be offering herbal vinegar making workshops for $5 to those interested!
Herkimer College Open house
Herkimer College will hold a Fall Open House on Friday, November 1 from 10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This event provides an opportunity for prospective students and families to tour campus, learn about the programs and services, and meet the faculty, staff, and students. Lunch will be provided. Registration is required.
Opening Reception for “EEEEE! Pluribus” by John Knecht
4 Elements Studio proudly presents “EEEEE! Pluribus,” an immersive multimedia art exhibition by acclaimed film and video artist John Knecht. The opening reception will take place on Friday, November 1, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at The Westwood, 167 Genesee Street, Lower Level, Utica, NY. Guests are invited to enjoy light refreshments and a cash bar while experiencing the thought-provoking world of Knecht’s newest work.
Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair
The Holiday Arts and Crafts Fair begins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the Canajoharie Library located at 2 Erie Blvd, Canajoharie, NY. Join the fun for a celebration of art, crafts, baked goods, books, food, and more, all handcrafted and homemade by regional artisans!
Reckoning with Ancestral Sins: Uncovering My Family’s Slaveholding Past
Longtime Washington, D.C. journalist and author, Debra Bruno, will talk about her personal journey of uncovering her Dutch American family’s history of slaveholding in the Hudson Valley and how that history has been hidden and diminished. The talk takes place at Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown on Sunday, November 3 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Registration is required: $15 members, $17.50 non-members.
