Fall Story time at the Old Forge Library

Five Fall Story Time sessions are scheduled for Fridays, October 18 – November 15 from 10:15-11:00 am at the Old Forge Library.
Story Time is for children ages 3-6 years old. Led by Old Forge Library Staff, the forty-five minutes will include stories and creative play, games, crafts, songs and other gentle activities to stimulate creative thinking. If you have toddler aged children you may bring them to Story Time; an adult must stay with a toddler aged child.

Brooks Chicken BBQ

Brooks’ BBQ Chicken Dinner Join the Herkimer County Historical Society for a delicious Brooks BBQ Chicken Dinner on Friday, October 18. Drive-thru pickup ONLY. Brooks’ BBQ Chicken Dinner is a Drive-thru pickup ONLY. Tickets are required for pick-up. Benefit proceeds support HCHS while enjoying a delicious BBQ dinner! Tickets are available in advance by contacting the Herkimer County Historical Society.

Frankfort Moonlight Market

The Fall Frankfort Moonlight Market at Frankfort Marina takes place beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024 at the Frankfort Marina located at 122 Marina Park Drive, Frankfort NY. Join in the fun at the Fall Edition of the Moonlight Market! Don’t miss over 25 artisan makers and vendors will be joining us from 5pm-9pm at the Frankfort Harbor and Marina Park. Several food trucks will be joining us. Live Music by Carson Murphy from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Brews at Heelpath Brewery all night!

TEDx Oneonta

TEDx Oneonta takes place at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 18th at 24 Market Street, Oneonta, NY. Explore Big Ideas in Otsego County! Imagine a night where ideas take center stage, where conversations spark new perspectives, and where dessert is the sweet finale to an evening of inspiration. That’s TEDxOneonta for you! They’re kicking things off with a happy hour at 5:00 p.m.—because great ideas flow even better with a drink in hand. Then, at 6:00 p.m., settle in as the speakers take you on a journey through love, leadership, community, and resilience.

Things That Go Bump in the Night Ghost Tours at The Farmers’ Museum

Things That Go Bump in the Night Ghost Tours at The Farmers’ Museum begins at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, October 18th and Saturday, October 19th, at the Farmers Museum located at 5775 NY-80, in Cooprstown NY. During the most haunting time of the year, dare to experience Things That Go Bump in the Night Ghost Tours at The Farmers’ Museum in Cooperstown! Join an eerie lantern-lit tour of the shadowy museum grounds. Ghost tours are held this weekend October 18 and 19. Tours last one hour, beginning at 5:30 p.m. and running every half-hour through 8:00 p.m. Cost: $17.50 members / $20 non-members. Reservations are required. Johnstown 2024 Harvest Festival

The Johnstown Harvest Festival takes place from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday October 19, 2024 at multiple locations across town. You can expect an exciting day filled with fun for the who family. Please visit Johnstown Harvest Festival for more details.

13th Annual Soup Tasting and Craft Fair

The 13th Annual Soup Tasting and Craft Fair will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at the Van Alstyne Homestead located at 4 Moyer Street, Canajoharie, NY. Try a variety of delicious soups in our Colonial Tavern section of the museum. Shop for autumn wares in our century old ballroom, from vendors/crafters near and far. Be sure to participate in our 50/50 raffle. Guided tours will be available of the circa 1729 Van Alstyne Homestead and Museum. President Terry McMaster will be presenting on the Stone Arabia Battle/Battlefield. All are welcome. Admission is $12.00.

2024 Haunted History Walking Tour

Join us for this year’s Haunted History Walking Tour at the Johnstown Historical Society located at 115 West Green Street, Johnstown, NY.  This year there will be many new stories and stops along the way! This event is a timed and ticketed event and tickets MUST BE PURCHASED PRIOR to the event. There will be NO walk up tickets available. Tickets go on sale September 15th and will be $15 per person.
