Mount Markham Central School District Foundation Announces Fundraising Effort for Coach Charles “Chuck” Engle Memorial Monument
WEST WINFIELD, NY – In honor of the late Coach and Physical Education Teacher Charles “Chuck” Engle, the Mount Markham Central School District Foundation is raising funds for a memorial monument to be placed at the gymnasium entrance of the high school.
Coach Engle served nearly 50 years as a coach and physical education teacher
Coach Engle served nearly 50 years as a coach and physical education teacher for the Mount Markham Central School District. He led the Mustangs to many league championships and section titles and was a member of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Hall of Fame, the NYSPHSAA Boys Soccer Hall of Fame, and the Greater Utica Sports Hall of Fame.
According to Sue Korosec, President of the Mount Markham Central School District Foundation, “Coach Engle was not only a coach and teacher, but he was also a friend and mentor to many students and colleagues for decades. He was instrumental to thousands of students throughout the years, and his legacy will continue for many years to come. On behalf of the Foundation Board of Directors, we are pleased to honor him in this fashion.”
The memorial that is being erected in Coach Engle’s honor is a monument style, EPS material-expanded polystyrene with raised lettering/logo finished with a structural polyurea hard coat. The structure is made of a faux brick and concrete body.
On behalf of the District, the Mount Markham Central School District Foundation will be accepting donations for this effort.
