Recipe to Market Course

Join us for our 2023 Recipe To Market Class.

The class is scheduled for Wednesdays March 8th through April 12th from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.

Classes will be held at Mohawk Valley Community College Rome Campus (1101 Floyd Ave, Rome, NY 13440), John D. Plumley Complex, Room PC 120. Topics include:

  • Recipe Development & Scheduled Process,
  • Online Sales & Marketing,
  • Food Preservation & Safety,
  • Business Planning & Cost of Production, &
  • Telling Your Story.

Cost of course is $75. Cost includes course binder and resource materials.

Mental Health First Aid Training for Agricultural Community

Farmers, agribusiness workers and anyone who interacts with the agricultural community is encouraged to attend this free training at Herkimer Community College, Robert McLaughlin College Center Room 282.

Beef Producers Discussion Group Meeting

Join Marylynn Collins, CCE Oneida Dairy & Livestock Educator, for a Beef Producers Group Meeting

This weekly series was created in response to high fertilizer prices.

  • March 9 – Corn Fertility in Times of Peak Fertilizer Prices

  • March 23 – Alfalfa, Grass, Mixed Stands and Pasture Fertility in Times of Peak Fertilizer Prices
  • March 30 – Using Precision Technologies to Improve Nutrient Efficient and Save Fertilizer Costs

Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Herkimer County will host a marketing workshop for agricultural producers on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, 5:30-7:30 pm.

Herkimer, N.Y. — CCE has invited an area specialist to work with our farms in developing and improving a marketing plan for farm goods.  The session will include topics like finding your market niche, taking the perfect photo, and even designing a logo.

The Marketing Workshop brings current research and knowledge to your fingertips, giving you more tools to take your farm to the next level.

This workshop will be held at our office at 5657 State Route 5, Herkimer.
