Learn about Bike Friendly Businesses

Cyclists Bring Business

Join us Monday, May 6th at 9:30 AM, location to be determined–possibly Jervis Library Conference Room on 613 North Washington in Rome.

As part of Rome becoming designated as a Park And Trails NY Erie Canal Town several businesses have become Bike Friendly PTNY Certified. For years, the Erie Canal Cycling and Hiking Trail and Erie (formerly Barge) Canal have been under recognized as a valuable asset to our community. Cyclists from around the country and world are riding right down Dominick Street! And then they go online social media! Word of mouth is your best advertising!

As a member of the newly recognized Rome Waterway and Canal Advocacy Group, I would like to help facilitate a workshop where we can discuss:

Please email back if you plan to attend or can’t at this time. I can also do an evening session.

Please share with other local businesses and attractions and reply if interested.

To date, the Rome Waterway and Trail Group with the City of Rome’s Planning Department have

  • Acquired 36+ bicycle racks to be installed

I’m passionate about the Erie Canal and Trail and Rome NY. In my past life, I was a facilitator for a highly recognized firm conducting Voice of the Customer programs and Organizational Development. Then I started scuba diving and ran a small shop in Rome. (It’s like selling snowblowers in Georgia but we did it!) I did a stint with the Rome Chamber of Commerce Board may years ago during the creation of Shop Rome First. Come on and join us!
