The Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd., has a new season of free craft projects lined up for the ever-popular Wednesday night Craft Get-Togethers! Craft nights start at 5 pm.

These sessions have a festive feel geared towards seasonal decor and holiday gifting. Craft nights are child-friendly and senior-friendly and are a fun social event for folks of every age in between. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. All supplies and instructions are provided. There is not instruction, with a goal of creating a cookie-cutter project, but there is encouragement to be as creative as we want.

The schedule is

Oct. 23: Felt Ball Pumpkins
Oct. 30: Day of the Dead Pumpkin Candle Holders

Herkimer Holiday Heroes Blood Drive

This holiday season your support can bring a patient in need comfort and hope – gifts more meaningful than anything found in a store or purchased online.

Your support ensures there is blood on the shelves when patients need it most! You never know when you or a loved one will need blood.

Please use the attached blood drive link for scheduling:
https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results?zipSponsor=HerkimerNY

We have an exciting incentive to offer our life-saving donors! Give a gift, get a gift! All who come to give Dec. 16 thru Jan. 3 will receive a NEW long sleeved Red Cross T shirt.

The Red Cross depends on the generosity of volunteers to ensure blood products are available when patients need them. Our blood drives and donation centers also depend on community support to spread the word about blood drive opportunities across Central New York.
