SimGolf Performance Center Named Montgomery County Small Business of the Month
AMSTERDAM, NY — The Montgomery County Business Development Center (MCBDC) is proud to recognize SimGolf as its Small Business of the Month, celebrating the business’s continued investment in the community, commitment to youth development, and dedication to supporting veterans and growing the game of golf throughout Montgomery County.
Owned and operated by Scott Warren, SimGolf has grown into one of Upstate New York’s premier indoor golf development facilities. Since opening in 2021, the business has expanded into a 10,000-square-foot Golf Performance Center offering year-round instruction, golf simulators, club fitting, athletic performance training, and coaching for golfers of all ages and skill levels. In 2025, Warren was recognized with the Northeastern New York PGA Player Development Award for his outstanding contributions to growing the game of golf.
Beyond providing a first-class golf facility, SimGolf has become an important community asset through its strong focus on youth and veteran engagement. The facility offers a wide range of youth programming, including PGA Junior League, junior instructional programs, and summer camps, helping young athletes build not only golf skills, but also confidence, teamwork, and discipline.
SimGolf has also made a meaningful impact by offering specialized programming and instruction for veterans, creating a welcoming space for recreation, rehabilitation, and community connection. These efforts provide veterans with opportunities to stay active, improve their well-being, and engage with others in a supportive environment.
A key part of SimGolf’s success has been the contributions of Alexis Ryder, who has been with the organization for the past two years. Ryder plays an integral role in the business, assisting with youth programming, managing social media and marketing efforts, and helping drive community engagement. Her work has helped expand SimGolf’s reach and strengthen its connection with residents throughout the region.
“Small businesses like SimGolf demonstrate the positive impact local entrepreneurs can have on a community,” said Montgomery County Executive Pete Vroman. “Scott has built more than a successful business—he has created a place where young people can grow, veterans can connect, and residents of all ages can come together. We are proud to recognize SimGolf for its commitment to Montgomery County.”
The Montgomery County Business Development Center recognizes a local business each month that demonstrates excellence, innovation, and a commitment to strengthening the local economy and community.
“SimGolf is a perfect example of what makes Montgomery County’s small business community so strong,” said Ken Rose, Director of the Montgomery County Business Development Center. “Scott has combined entrepreneurship with a genuine passion for giving back. From youth development to supporting our veterans, SimGolf continues to make a meaningful impact while also contributing to the growth of our local economy.”
For Warren, the recognition reflects the support he has received from the community since opening the business.
“We’re incredibly honored to be recognized as Montgomery County’s Small Business of the Month,” said Warren. “Our mission has always been about more than golf. We want to create a place where people, especially young athletes and veterans, can come in, feel welcomed, improve their skills, and be part of something positive. We’re grateful for the support from the community and look forward to continuing to grow here in Montgomery County.”
The MCBDC congratulates SimGolf on this well-deserved recognition and thanks Scott Warren, Alexis Ryder, and his team for their continued investment in Montgomery County and its residents. SimGolf is located at 1451 State Highway 5S, Amsterdam, NY 12010. The public can view their schedule, hours of operation and services on their website www.simgolfpga.com.
