Rooted in Oneida CountyOriskany, NY – Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County, in collaboration with Oneida County Tourism, is excited to unveil Rooted in Oneida County, formerly Harvest Oneida County. This initiative is dedicated to celebrating and promoting the county’s rich agricultural heritage through community engagement, education and agritourism.

As the growing season unfolds, we encourage community members to connect with local farms and enjoy the fresh, seasonal offerings. Rooted in Oneida County’s Agritourism Guide feature’s agricultural locations that invite the public to visit them for fresh air, fresh food and family fun across the county.

Rooted in Oneida County: A Community-driven Movement

Rooted in Oneida County is more than a campaign it is a community-driven movement designed to connect residents and visitors with local farmers, seasonal products and hands-on experiences that showcase the heart of Oneida County’s food systems. Whether it’s picking apples at a family run orchard, attending a bouquet making workshop with a flower farm, or anything in between, Rooted in Oneida County offers something for everyone to enjoy and learn from.

To celebrate the launch of Rooted in Oneida County we invite you to the Oneida County Public Market on Saturday, May 30 for Beef Day! Sample a variety of local beef cuts prepared by MVCC Culinary students, learn about local beef purchasing from CCE Oneida Ag Educators and shop your favorite cuts directly from the vendors. Representatives from the Utica Comets will also be at the market – stop by and say hi to them. We hope to see you there and stay loyal to local this summer!
