Get you’re events seen on the Mohawk Valley Today Community Calendar

Growing up in a small town on the Herkimer-Fulton County border, we got used to our usual routes and destinations. Shopping and going to the movies in Gloversville and Johnstown, or Little Falls and Herkimer, were typical weekly outings for our family.

Back then, it was rare when we heard about an event happening in a different community or even in the next county. Thanks to today’s technology we all can access more local information on our phones. Like many of the folks we’ve talked to, we want to enjoy our community along with communities that are close by.

This is why we created the Community Events Program on Mohawk Valley Today.  Not only do we want to find out about community events, festivals and fairs, we want to help spread the word about these events and make them easily accessible to residents in the Mohawk Valley as well as visitors to the region.

Mohawk Valley Today’s free community calendar

Our free community calendar is available to communities, nonprofit organizations, and farms to educate residents about events happening in any of the six counties in the Mohawk Valley. The goal of our event calendar is to help get the word out about community events, nonprofit offerings, in addition to historic and seasonal programs.

How can you get involved?

We have made it easy to share your community, nonprofit or organization information and to be posted to the Community Events Calendar. Simply fill out our form and hit submit to send us your upcoming event. It’s quick and super easy!

  • Send us your event details at least a week in advance. Due to the high volume, same-day or next-day submissions may not get posted.
  • Be sure to include photos or links to photos. Photos are an important feature for all events—they show folks what to expect and make things fun! At least one photo is needed for each event posted.
  • Tell us A LOT about your event! Events that include more information, like the WHY behind the event, are viewed and shared the most. The more information included, the more we can share on the website as events, featured articles and on social media!

We look forward do getting your events so we can share them on Mohawk Valley Today!
