Mohawk Valley Today is a participating nonprofit in the upcoming Mohawk Valley Gives campaign from September 16-22, 2024!

At Mohawk Valley Today, we care about our region and communities and strive to share all of the awesome events, programs, services available throughout the area. And because of you, Mohawk Valley Today is one of the fastest growing websites in the region!

Mohawk Valley Gives Campaign runs September 16-22

On September 16, the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties and UpMobility Foundation will host the kick-off for the third annual “Mohawk Valley Gives,” a 24-hour community-wide giving day to benefit nonprofit organizations serving the Mohawk Valley.

During last year’s giving day, the community came together and raised more than $2.4 million benefiting over 250 local organizations!

Our Story

Mohawk Valley Today began with a search for what was happening in the Mohawk Valley. Having grown up in a town on the Fulton-Herkimer county border, the founders, Ginny and Jim, knew that it was common for folks to travel to nearby villages, towns and cities, to shop, explore the history, and enjoy the festivals, markets, and community events. This search led to the question, how can we make it easy for folks in nearby towns to find out what’s happening in neighboring towns or villages?

Since 2017, Mohawk Valley Today has developed into a regional hub dedicated to sharing all of the hard work our towns, villages and cities, nonprofit organizations, historical societies and museums, do to make the Mohawk Valley a great place to live. Like you, we are so grateful to the region’s agricultural community for providing all of us with the freshest, best-tasting produce. Through our websites at Mohawk Valley Today and Mohawk Valley Museums, we are so happy to be able to share why this is such a great place to live.

Mohawk Valley Today takes a grassroots approach

We meet local organizations where they are, identify needs, and develop a strategy to meet those needs in an online environment. We offer local communities a platform that reaches Fulton, Herkimer, Montgomery, Oneida, Otsego and Schoharie counties.
