Farm Succession Seminar

Farm succession planning is one of the most important—and complex—decisions a farm family can face.

This interactive workshop will explore practical approaches to planning for the future, grounded in both professional expertise and real farm experience.

The workshop will feature Anna Richards, a member of a farm family and an experienced dairy consultant specializing in business succession planning, financial analysis, and management systems. Anna will share insights to help farm families think strategically about transitions, communication, and long-term viability.

Participants will also hear from Raymond Luhrman of Fox Creek Farm (Schoharie, NY), an IRV participant currently interviewing Mohawk Valley farmers to collect data and personal stories related to farm succession. His work is helping build resources to support better succession planning for farm families across the region.

This session is designed to be practical, conversational, and farmer-centered.
