Wilbur H. Lynch Literacy Academy Pool Re-Open’s for Family Swim Night

The City of Amsterdam, Greater Amsterdam School District and the Montgomery County Public Health Department are excited to announce that Wilbur H. Lynch Literacy Academy pool located at 55 Brandt Pl will be open every Tuesday and Thursday for Family Swim Night starting on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.

Mayor Michael Cinquanti stated, “Our City, County and School District continue to work together to offer residents opportunities none of us could offer on our own. We are thrilled to be able to help extend the benefits of the Middle School pool to our wider community and grateful to be working with two great partners to make that possible.

Montgomery County Public Health Director, Sara Boerenko stated, “Health and physical activity is so important for children. To be able to partner with the City of Amsterdam Recreation Department and GASD allows families to engage in exercise and spend time together as families. Thank you for this opportunity to open the Lynch Middle School Pool to our community.”

All activities are free thanks to the support from Montgomery County Public Health Departments. Families can enjoy Family Swim 6pm, Aqua Aerobics 7pm and Lap Swimming 8pm. Children under the age of ten will not be allowed to enter the facility without accompaniment from an adult. All swimmers are required to wear a bathing suit, athletic shorts will not be allowed.
