Featured Farm: Damin Farm

Most farms located throughout the Mohawk Valley operate year round and we love sharing where to find them and what they offer. Not only do local farmers and growers offer their fresh produce at Farmers’ Markets, many of them have their own farm stands and stores that make it easy for all of us to buy the best locally grown products available. One such farm is Damin Farm!

In their words…

My father purchased the farm back in 1957 and Barb and I took over in 1984. The farm is over 600 acres and was originally a dairy farm but we have switched to raising our own beef, pork, chicken, and growing vegetables to sell in our farm store.

How to find them

Damin Farm and Farm Store is located at 8075 Route 5 in St. Johnsville, NY. Damin farm participates in local festivals such as the Little Falls Cheese festival and others. They can be found each week at the Utica at the Oneida County public Market located at the Utica Train Station. Damin Farm also participates in the annual Fulton-Montgomery Farm to Table Tour held each July.

Their on-site farm store is open every day and you can usually meet either Steve or Barb as they are on site most of the time. Both are happy to help you find what you’re looking for and offer great advise on how to prepare and what to combine to make great meals for your family!

Did you know??

The original farm dates back to the early early 1700’s Klock patent and was much larger than its current 650 acres.

 Damin Farm main specialty item is our Sweet Corn which is known throughout the valley locally. Make a variety of jams and jellies – strawberry, blueberry, cherry, grape sometimes.

 The label on all Damin Farm food proofs is an image of Steve’s Grandfather, his father and uncle taken in the early 1950’s at Pine Lake Park in Fulton County.
