There are so many wonderful local farms in the Mohawk Valley that offer fresh produce for the region. With so many local farms throughout the valley, you can easily visit a local farm store within a short drive from your home. This week, we’re excited to share our featured Mohawk Valley Farm – Eaton Corners Homestead!

About Eaton Corners Homestead

Eaton Corners Homestead got started when Tino and Brianna Lopez began raising their own meats over a year ago. They are self taught and practice regenerative farming, rotating their animals around the property and improving the soils. The homestead grew out of their desire to improve their own health and nutrition, and produce quality products for the community.

In their own words,

We only sell what we raise on our farm. Our animals are vaccine free/hormone free. We use no spray hay, and follow organic farming practices but we prefer to not be certified organic. We raise a unique cattle breed called Belted Galloways and they are an ancient Scottish breed. Belted Galloway are the most tender and have the best flavor compared to other breeds in the world according to a USDA study. Our beef cattle pasture is 50 ft from the farm store and we like to call our farm to family method “Hyper local food.”

We rotate our cattle, pigs, goats, and pasture raised chickens and turkeys to improve our soil. We raise our hogs in the the dense forested parts of the property, they live much like a wild boar, eating hickory nuts, and rooting on the natural growth. We also render the beef suet and make natural tallow products that we sell in our farm store. We have lip balm, lotion, hair styling pomade, and body balms available. Also plain tallow is available for general kitchen use.

What you’ll find here

Grass fed, grass finished beef. This is the healthiest version of beef.

Ancestral ground beef (5% liver and heart mixed with ground beef) this gives families all the vitamins and nutrients from organ meats, without the taste.

Custom bratwursts from our grass-fed beef (Jalepeño cheddar, maple bourbon, and more seasonal options!

Unique grass-fed tallow products from our grass fed beef!

Lip balm, lotion, hair styling pomade, and body balms availible. Also plain tallow is available for general kitchen use etc.

Also for deer hunting season, we will offer scent free items like lip balm, deodorant, and more.

Pasture-raised chickens, and a reservation list for pastured thanksgiving turkeys! Forested pork will be available in the fall.

They also offer sour dough products that Bree bakes daily. She has anything from regular loafs to cinamonn blueberry bagels! The over pasture-raised chicken eggs and will have A2A2 milk available in a month with our addition of a Jersey dairy cow to the herd.

Did you know…

Tino and Brianna both work full time aside from raising a family and running a busy family homestead and farm store. Brianna is a Physician Assistant and in practiced conventional medicine for 7 years. She has started the journey to become certified as a functional medicine provider. Their family focus on nutrition as the basis for their health has led them to start their homestead.

They are first generation farmers and have taught themselves many skills! They never pictured themselves milking a herd of goats for raw milk, and raising 100% of their meats on our own property.

They love to hunt and also breed German Shorthaired Pointer hunting dogs!
