The Make It Mohawk Valley team is building a roadmap to bring clean energy manufacturing to the Mohawk Valley. Our region has so much potential, and the team is looking to you for input!

MVEDD represents all the Mohawk Valley communities, and we want their voices to be heard through the work we do. The easiest way for our communities’ voices to be heard is through this survey – to tell us what you think about clean energy manufacturing.

Make It Mohawk Valley

The Make It Mohawk Valley team has a clear mission to focus on the economic health and well-being of the region. Through this project, historically underserved and marginalized communities can benefit through the advancement of clean energy manufacturing. This project will be used to improve the local economy and bring higher paying jobs to the area.

The team includes Mohawk Valley Economic Development District, Inc., Mohawk Valley Regional Economic Development Council, Fulton County CRG, Herkimer County IDA, Mohawk Valley EDGE, and Advanced Institute for Manufacturing.

Building the roadmap

The roadmap to bring clean energy manufacturing to the Mohawk Valley includes pulling partners into the conversation, both economic development agencies and communities. The plan is to listen to what the experts say while listening to what communities are asking for. The process will look at our current manufacturing landscape to understand which types of manufacturers to target and approach–which ones will best fit the region and which ones make the most sense. For example, component parts for chip fabrication make sense because of the proximity of Wolfspeed, Danfoss, and Micron.

The online survey will be available through October. There will be public meetings in addition to the survey. Tentatively the public meetings are scheduled for September with one in Fulton County, one in Herkimer County, and one in Oneida County with times, dates, and places still to be determined.
