Mohawk Valley Today Featured Weekend Events July 26 – 28, 2024

Lots going on this weekend in almost every corner of the Mohawk Valley! Thanks so much to everyone for sending us their events happening in Boonville with the Oneida County Fair, throughout Fulton and Montgomery Counties with the Farm to Table Tour, along with Gloversville, Amsterdam, Canajoharie and Old Forge. Be sure to stock up on locally grown, fresh produce at local Farmers’ Markets.

Boonville

Boonville-Oneida County Fair

The Boonville-Oneida County Fair continues this weekend through Sunday, July 28th! You still have time to come out and enjoy a couple of fun filled days at the fair!  Gates Open at 8:00 a.m. Friday through Sunday. Carnival opens at 2:00 p.m. each day. Cooper Allen in Concert

Cooper Allen will be in concert at the Boonville-Oneida County Fair on Saturday, July 27th beginning with doors open at 6:00pm and music at 8:00pm.

A rising star with the spirit of a true entertainer, Cooper Allen has a penchant for outside-the-box thinking and a growing, self-built audience, Cooper Alan is an artist willing to take country music where others have never dreamed – and fans love him for it. Whether it’s a deeply personal, step-by-step romantic saga, or an off-the-wall party anthem, Alan’s music is already some of country’s most fearless work, and he’s just getting started! Fulton- Montgomery Farm to Table Tour

The 3rd Annual Farm to Table Tour is just around the corner on July 28th from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. A day full of fun, fresh produce and education for all ages. It’s a great opportunity to meet your local farmer and create connections that will last a lifetime. Get back to your roots and learn where your food comes from!

Many of the locations have planned activities, hay rides, tastings and farm tours just to name a few. It’s a great opportunity to go right out onto the farm meet the farmers, try their products and learn about growing food locally right here in the Mohawk Valley!

Amsterdam

Mommy and Me Stretch Class

Mommy and Me Stretch Class takes place from 1:15pm until 3:00pm on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Veterans Park in Amsterdam. This will be an hour of stories, gentle yoga poses and play time in the park. Recommended for ages ages 3-7. Please call in advance to book your place in the class by calling 518-620-6245.

Canajoharie

Starlab Planetarium Show

The Starlab Planetarium Show takes place beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Canajoharie Library located at 2 Erie Blvd, Canajoharie, NY. Join Planetarium Adventures as they bring a portable planetarium show to the Great Hall of the Arkell Museum and Canajoharie Library.

Enjoy the world of astronomy and the wonderment of our solar system with this fun and interactive presentation. This is a free program for kids and tweens. Registration requested.

Old Forge

Old Forge Library Summer Reading program continues!

Old Forge Summer Reading program takes place from 1:15 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Friday July 26th at the Old Forge Library located at 220 Crosby Road in Old Forge. This is a great way to encourage children to read through the summer with five weeks of games, lots of crafts and themed reading incentives for Pre-K & up. This year’s theme, Adventure Begins at Your Library, opens up a world of possibilities of imagination. Children 4 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Call the library to register your child, walk-ins also welcome.

Gloversville

Food Truck Fridays

Gloversville Food Truck Fridays will have a mini festival feel to it, bringing downtown employees outside to enjoy their meals and bringing people from around the city in to enjoy and explore the Downtown Corridor.

The musician performing on July 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. is Michelle King. Food truck vendors are Jammin’ Juice Bar, Parkside Hot Dogs, Teddy’s Gyros, and Robb’s Topp Doggs Mobile Kitchen. Gloversville Public Library will also be on hand.

Buddy Jewell in Concert at Glove Theatre

Award-Winning National Country Star and Winner of Nashville Star, Buddy Jewell, returns to The Glove Theatre to celebrate “Buddy Jewell Day” in a very special, one night only concert, featuring hits such as: “Pour Out the Rain”, “Sweet Southern Comfort”, “If She Were Any Other Woman” and many more! With local openers, Three of a Kind! Sponsored by The Glove Theatre and Suzanne Brooks & Friends.

44 Lakes Customized Gifts and Decor

Join Denise, on Friday July 26th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, and on Saturday July 27th from 11:00am until 1:00pm, in making watermelon 4x4s. These decorative pieces will be 10inches by 6inches slice. Cost is $15 per person. Event is held at 44 Lakes Customized Gifts and Decor, 15 N. Main St. Gloversville.
