Young Farmer

There’s Still Time to Help Shape the Future of Agriculture in Herkimer County!

Cornell Cooperative Extension Herkimer County is seeking farmers and other agricultural professionals who are interested in volunteering on the Herkimer County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Board.

The Board plays an important role in supporting local agriculture, protecting farmland, and helping guide policies and planning that affect the future of farming in our county. We are looking for people with firsthand knowledge of agriculture who want to bring their experience and perspective to the table. This year, the Board will be reviewing our current 2020 Herkimer County Agricultural and Farmland Protection Plan from 2020 and will be revising it in subsequent years.

If you are a farmer, agribusiness professional, or someone actively involved in Herkimer County agriculture, we encourage you to consider getting involved.

Your voice can help ensure that the needs and opportunities of our agricultural community are represented in county planning and decision-making. The deadline is September 4th.

Interested in serving or learning more? Please contact Cornell Cooperative Extension Herkimer County for additional information at herkimer@cornell.edu or call 315-866-7920.

Please share with farmers and agricultural professionals who may be interested!
