  • May 17 – Mosher Greenhouse and Market (Sherrill) – 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Growing Perennials
  • May 30 – Farm Fest (DiNitto Farms, Marcy) – 4:30 pm – 8:00 pm – Pollinators Display & Chance to Win a Garden Basket

About Master Gardener Volunteers

The Master Gardener Program is a national program of trained volunteers who work in partnership with their county Cooperative Extension office to expand educational outreach throughout the community by providing home gardeners with research-based information.

Master Gardener Volunteers assist with gardening projects in the community, teach classes and workshops, provide information and soil pH testing at events, and answer gardening questions.

Oneida County Master Gardener volunteers are an integral component of the counties’ outreach program in educating:

  • Home gardeners
  • 4-H Clubs
  • Youth in after-school programs
  • Community & school gardeners
  • Gardening clubs and other groups

Master Gardener Volunteers:

  • Offer over 40 classes each year on gardening topics
  • Answer more than 900 calls each year on the garden “hotline”
  • Give tours of the Nature Trail and Parker F. Scripture Botanical Gardens
  • Write garden articles
  • Demonstrate projects in public places
  • Participate in community improvement projects
  • Organize plant sales and public events
  • Increase awareness for best practices in gardening
