Take a Bite of Montgomery continues through this weekend!

Take a Bite of Montgomery is a county-wide restaurant week going on now through Sunday, April 28. Enjoy specials and great food at your favorite restaurants, bakeries and other eateries throughout Montgomery County! Take a look at participating businesses and their specials.

Patrons are encouraged to take photos at participating businesses using the same hashtag for the chance to win a prize. Post your photos in the Facebook event page or email your food pictures to tourism@co.montgomery.ny.us to enter.

Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum presents Timothy Hill

Timothy hill accompaniment by Michael Bisio on bass will perform  Saturday, 27 April 2024 at 7 p.m.

Quote from Derek Richardson describing Timothy’s music said, “And Hill’s multi-pitch overtone singing, especially when melded to Bisio’s arco drones, takes the music into mystical realms where folk, jazz, classical and devotional traditions become one, where there is no boundary separating inside and outside.”

There is a $20 suggested donation at the door. Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum, 66 Kingsboro Ave, Gloversville, NY 12078.

Founded in 1983 by David and Marsha Karpeles with the purpose to inspire curiosity and encourage learning, the Karpeles Manuscript Library archives contain more than a million historical documents in the categories of literature, science, religion, political history, exploration, music and art.

To make the collection more accessible to the general public, all Karpeles museums are free to visit, and the collection rotates between its museums three times per year.

Gloversville Youth Fishing Derby

Join us on Saturday April 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the 10th Annual Youth Fishing Derby at Wohlfarth’s Pond. This event is open to children of Gloversville 15 and under. Bring your own poles and earthworms. This will be a hook and worm, catch and release competition. No Mealworms. No corn. No pheromones.

Registration starts at 9 a.m. and will be open throughout the day.

Trophies will be awarded for the most fish caught, largest fish caught in each age group, first fish caught and smallest fish caught. Each child who catches a fish will receive an award ribbon in recognition of their accomplishment.
Refreshments will be available for purchase.

The Barroom Neon Project will be stopping at the Renaissance Pub located on Main Street in Little Falls Ny on Friday, April 26 beginning at 7:00pm as part of their home Sweet home tour!

The Renaissance Pub takes pride in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all of our customers. It all began in 1980 when the bar was established, and it has been the premier drinking establishment in Little Falls ever since. Free Art Workshop on Saturday April 27 From 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at The Copper Easel located at 216 W Dominick St, Rome, NY.
