This week we asked on social media to tell us about your favorite upcoming events! Many thanks to Downtown Gloversville and the Tramontane Cafe in Utica for keeping us in the loop with some great entertainment this weekend.

The TRAMONTANE CAFE is “a coffeehouse cafe with vegan, vegetarian and some gluten free options..we also serve meat/deli products as well! we serve all traditional coffeehouse fare as well as in-house baked goods made by staff. there will be open mic nights as well as a poetry/comedy/spoken word specific nights.”

April Foolstravaganza Too

Back for another year, the April Foolstravaganza Too is a time to embrace the fun and get weird. This unabashed celebration brings strange cafe specials along with a costume contest that promises some wonky and wonderous prizes!

The fun starts on Saturday, April 13 at 7 p.m. with $5 admission. The night’s festivities feature Home Visitor, Tame the Giant and B.S.T.V (Book Store Theatre and Vaudeville).

We’re Lovin’ Downtown Gloversville!

Downtown Gloversville is a grassroots effort focusing on “urban revitalization through business retention and expansion, placemaking, and enhancing the quality of life for the greater Gloversville community.”

Dorn Space presents Belle Live in Concert!

Dorn Space, located at 99 N. Main Street in downtown Gloversville, is a creative haven for performing arts. Featuring family-friendly comedy, music, poetry, storytelling and original presentations of all kinds.

Belle-Skinner concert is on April 12 at 7:00 p.m.

Belle Skinner Live in Concert at Dorn Space in Gloversville.Belle-Skinner is a dark nostalgic singer-songwriter based in New York. With a hauntingly beautiful, lilting soprano and innate sense of melody she crafts tales of songbirds, sirens and desert nomads – nuanced and layered stories which bridge the gap between past and present.

Admission is $10 (cash/door only). Tickets may be reserved in advance by emailing dornspace@gmail.com. Doors open at 6:15 pm.

Blithe Spirit at the Glove Theater

The side-splitting, supernatural comedy continues at The Glove Theatre on 42 N. Main St. in Gloversville this weekend!

Blithe Spirit: An Improbable Farce in Three Acts by Noël Coward

Production is directed by Michael Maricondi.

Cast features: Ashley Olmstead as Charles, WENT Radio’s Patti Noble as Madame Arcati, Samantha Hall-Saladino as Ruth, Larissa Groesbeck-Fringo as Elvira, Jay White as Dr. Bradman, Nikkita Laurayne as Mrs. Bradman, Gabrielle Duplessis as Edith.

This is produced with permission of Concord Theatricals. Runtime: Approx 2h 30m with two ten minute intermissions.

Created by students in the Gloversville Enlarged School District, the creatives are hidden throughout the city, with many on North and South Main Street. Find a monster, scan the code, and enter to win a prize.
