On September 20th, Mohawk Valley Today participated in our very first fundraiser through Mohawk Valley Gives 2024. As a newly formed nonprofit, we were excited to join other organizations in this effort to help get us started on the right foot.

We also want to thank the Mohawk Valley Gives hosts, The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties and the UpMobility Foundation. These two organizations partnered together to conduct a first-class fundraiser positively impacting over 300 nonprofits in the region. This very successful campaign has cast a shining bright light on the people and organizations providing outstanding services and support in their local communities here in the Mohawk Valley. Thank you!

Participating in Mohawk Valley Gives 2024, we learned from our hosts key lessons in how to conduct a successful fundraising campaign. We also met, shared ideas, and ask questions in community with other nonprofits participating in the campaign. By participating in training and roundtable discussions we were able to understand the lessons learned from organizations who participated in previous Mohawk Valley Gives campaigns and how to apply those lessons to our own efforts this year.

Mohawk Valley Today would like to thank the UpMobility Foundation for their support of our newly formed nonprofit. We greatly appreciate being selected by the foundation to receive a $1 to $1 match on all donations up to $5,000, and a generous $100 for each unique donor who donated online to Mohawk Valley Today during the giving window. The matching funds, as well as the addition of $100 for each donor, helped tremendously in our ability to raise funds for our very new nonprofit. Thank you so much!
