STOP-DWI Impaired Driving High Visibility Engagement Campaign runs February 8 through February 10, 2025
Montgomery County Executive Pete Vroman announced today that Montgomery County police agencies and STOP-DWI Coordinators will participate in special efforts to bring awareness to the dangers of impaired driving.
The statewide STOP-DWI Crackdown efforts start on 2/8/2025 and will end on 2/10/2025. The Super Bowl is America’s most watched national sporting event and Super Bowl Weekend is historically a deadly period for impaired driving. In a combined effort to bring awareness to the dangers of impaired driving, prevent injuries and save lives law enforcement officers across New York State and STOP-DWI programs will be participating in special engagement efforts. The statewide STOP-DWI High Visibility Engagement Campaign start on 2/8/2025 and will end on 2/10/2025.
“We want our community members to enjoy Super Bowl festivities, but we also want responsible drivers on the road,” said Jeffrey R. Kaczor. “If you are planning to be away from home during the Super Bowl, make a game plan to ensure you don’t find yourself without a designated driver if you need one. If you are hosting a party, make sure you take care of your designated drivers. Remind your friends and family: Fans Don’t Let Fans Drive Drunk.”
Never Drive Under the Influence “Whether you’re attending a party, hosting one, or going out to watch the Superbowl, keep safety at the forefront of your night” said Sheriff Jeffery T. Smith “When it’s time to leave, make sure your designated driver is sober. If he or she has decided to drink, have plans for a safe/sober ride. If you are driving, remember that sober driving isn’t the only law that should be followed, make sure you and your passengers wear your seat belts.
The STOP-DWI Super Bowl High Visibility Engagement Campaign is one of many statewide initiatives promoted by STOP-DWI NY and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee. The Statewide STOP-DWI High Visibility Engagement Campaign also targets Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day/End of Summer, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Holiday Season and St. Patrick’s Day.
Highly visible, highly publicized efforts like the STOP-DWI High Visibility Engagement Campaign aim to further reduce the incidence of drunk and impaired driving.
