The Institute for Rural Vitality and the Mohawk Valley Entrepreneur Assistance Center at SUNY Cobleskill has announced their next cohort of the popular Small Business Development Bootcamp begins August 14, 2025. What is the Small Business Development Bootcamp?

The Small Business Development Bootcamp is a 10-week intensive learning and development opportunity designed to help you develop and grow your business, and deliver better value to your customers. This program is offered free through the Mohawk Valley Entrepreneur Assistance Center to all eligible small businesses in the region.

Eligibility

You are eligible to participate if you are a business that operates in, or has impact in any of the 6 counties that make up the Mohawk Valley, these counties include Fulton, Herkimer, Montgomery, Oneida, Otsego and Schoharie counties.

What to expect

When you join the Institute for Rural Vitality’s Mohawk Valley entrepreneur Assistance Center’s 10-week Fall Business Development Bootcamp you can take your idea, or your existing small business to the next level with expert guidance and personalized support. The full program will run from August 14 until October 29 on Mondays & Wednesdays from  6:00 p.m. until  – 8:00 p.m. You will get real-world tools to help you:

  • Build your business plan
  • Understand your customers
  • Nail your pitch
  • Learn how to get funded

This bootcamp will offer options to attend both in-person and virtual training sessions.

About the Mohawk Valley Entrepreneur Assistance Center

The Institute for Rural Vitality (IRV) at SUNY Cobleskill is proud to have been designated as the official Mohawk Valley Entrepreneurship Assistance Center (EAC) by Empire State Development, New York State’s economic development agency.

As a result of this designation, the IRV offers an array of business development services, regardless of industry. These services include a FREE 10-week Business Development Bootcamp course in the fall and spring as well as one-on-one counseling and support to meet each entrepreneur’s specific needs and help them grow their businesses.

In order to receive services through the IRV’s EAC, you will need to operate your business or have economic impact in the Mohawk Valley – including Herkimer, Fulton, Montgomery, Oneida, Otsego, or Schoharie County. But that’s it! You can receive support through the EAC regardless of what stage your small business is at or what product or service you would like to offer.
