Mohawk Valley Featured Weekend Events in Upstate NY: April 11-13

Springtime in Upstate New York is a great time to be out and enjoying the Mohawk Valley. Many thanks to Cooperstown, Herkimer, Ilion, Old Forge, Gloversville, and more, for sharing events with us! Fresh produce can be found this week at the Oneonta Winter Farmers’ Market, and the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market. Don’t forget to get local produce for your favorite recipes at local area farm stores!

Herkimer College Used Book Sale

Herkimer College Library’s annual used book sale continues this weekend through Monday, April 21st. Books will be 25 cents each or 5 for $1.00, cash only. Library hours will be Friday April 11 from 8:00 a.m until 3:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. For questions please email Herkimer Library at library@herkimer.edu.

Free Spring Break Drop in Crafts

The Old Forge Library, located at 220 Crosby Blvd., holds its final family-friendly drop-in arts and crafts activities during Spring Break with Fun with Yarn on Fri. 4/11 – Yarn Letters. Crafting sessions will run from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The library welcomes participants of all ages to explore their creativity and make fun, handmade projects. The best part? Herkimer College Board Game Night

Come celebrate National Board Game Day from tonight from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at National Board Game Day with Herkimer College Library! Play some games, eat some food, win some prizes! Sugaring Off at Herkimer Home

Herkimer Home invites you to join us for the return of the historic Sugaring Off at Herkimer Home’ event! This year’s event will be held on Saturday, April 12th from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m, with a special Pancake Breakfast from That Little Place On Main starting at 10am. Standard site admission of $4 for adults and $3 for students/seniors will be charged, children 12 and under are free. For questions or more information please call 315-823-0398.

Sugaring Off at Herkimer Home State Historic Site on Saturday!

Zoom Writer’s Workshop Series at the Old Forge Library

The Old Forge Library final Writer’s Workshop via Zoom is this Sunday, April 13 from 11:30 am to 1 pm. Gabrielle Esposito will lead the 4-session workshop. Each class lasts 1.5 hours, and there is always ample time for participants to share their work and receive constructive feedback. All the necessary educational materials for each session will be provided.

Course offering this week will be: Find Your Writing Voice

Farmers’ Markets

Get fresh vegetables, honey and more at the Oneonta Winter Farmers Market from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays at Foothills located at 24 Market Street, and at the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There is still time to have fun during the “Hardy Locavore” challenge to reward shoppers at its Winter Saturday Markets. By shopping 10 times at the farmers’ market between January 11 and April 26, people will receive a free cotton canvas box tote.
