Downtown Gloversville to Welcome 200 Elementary Students for Interactive Community Career Day
GLOVERSVILLE, NY – Downtown Gloversville and City Hall will transform into a learning laboratory on Friday, June 12, as approximately 200 students from Boulevard Elementary School participate in a special Downtown Career Day. The immersive initiative is designed to provide young learners with valuable real-world exposure and career awareness directly within their local community.
Throughout the day, students will move in small groups across various downtown businesses, non-profit organizations, and municipal departments.
At each stop, professionals will host short, 10-to-15-minute interactive sessions to introduce the students to a wide array of career paths and highlight the essential roles these entities play in sustaining and growing the local economy.
“This event offers a unique opportunity for students to connect classroom learning with practical, real-world applications,” said Jennifer Donovan, Downtown Development Specialist. “By engaging directly with local professionals, we hope to foster early interest in diverse professions and demonstrate the vital roles these community entities fulfill. This initiative underscores the deep commitment of our local businesses and city government to youth education and community engagement.”
