Community Support Fuels the 2025 Veggie Van Season
Herkimer, NY – Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Herkimer County is thrilled to announce generous funding support for the 2025 season of the Veggie Van, a mobile market initiative bringing fresh, local produce directly to communities across the region.
Our farm partner for the Veggie Van program is West End Farm, a family owned and operated produce and poultry farm located in Herkimer, NY.
Powered by $20,000 from the Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties and a $10,000 contribution from Bassett Healthcare Network, the Veggie Van will once again hit the road this summer— this project is driven by community partnerships and a mission to make nutritious, affordable food accessible to all.
“We are deeply grateful for these investments in the health and wellbeing of our community,” said Cameron Burke, of Cornell Cooperative Extension Herkimer County. “This funding allows us to continue connecting residents with fresh, seasonal produce while supporting local farmers and strengthening our regional food system.”
The Veggie Van is a creative solution designed to create access to healthy, fresh foods in rural areas.
It promotes healthy eating, boosts local agriculture, builds connections around food, while offering healthy recipes and nutrition resources to support healthy eating.
As we gear up for another exciting season, we invite the community to visit us at our 2025 locations in Little Falls Burke Park, Frankfort Library, Ilion London Towers, Herkimer Galinsky Apartments, Herkimer Fat Cats, Village of West Winfield on Rt. 20, Herkimer Community Garden, Mohawk Suzy Q’s, the Mohawk Valley Garlic & Herb Festival, West Winfield’s Fall Fest, & Little Falls Canal Days! You’ll find the Veggie Van at familiar stops from last season and a few new ones, bringing farm-fresh goodness to your neighborhood.
