A local Mohawk Valley festival
Local festivals are great ways for cities, towns and villages to bring communities together. These communities roll out the welcome mat and invite visitors to enjoy a great day out, support local businesses, and make new friends while enjoying the festivities. Festivals are a way to celebrate, remember their shared history, and highlight the significant industries, events and individuals that helped shape the community over the years. One of the very popular local festivals here in the Mohawk Valley is the Annual Dolgeville Violet Festival.
This year’s Dolgeville Violet Festival
The Dolgeville Violet Festival happens every year on the second Friday, Saturday and Sunday of June. As the Dolgeville Violet Festival Committee describes it,
“The Dolgeville Violet Festival is not just a one-time event during the summer, but a year-round effort by the residents of Dolgeville. The Violet Festival preserves the historical aspects of the Village of Dolgeville through the use of innovative, artistic, and educational displays throughout the year. There is an emphasis on the communities’ rich horticultural history, which culminates with the annual Dolgeville Violet Festival…”
