Executive Updates Public on Storm Damage and Response Efforts
FONDA, NY- Montgomery County experienced significant storm damage Tuesday night, leading to numerous road closures, power outages, debris, and downed wires county-wide.
County Executive Robert Purtell said, “Despite the severity of the storm, the prompt and professional response from our dedicated teams and community volunteers ensured the safety and well-being of our residents.”
Current Road Closures:
- Latimer Hill Rd from St Highway 10 to Shunk Rd in Ames
- Mohawk Dr from Main St to Stoner Trail Rd in Tribes Hill
- Main St from Mohawk Dr to the bridge in Tribes Hill
- Lafayette St (St Hwy 10) from W Grand St (St Hwy 5) to Groff Rd in Palatine Bridge
- Dumler Ln in Fort Hunter
- State Highway 5 from Reservoir Rd in the Town of Mohawk to Mckinley Rd in the Town of Palatine,
- State Highway 5 from Cayadutta St (St Hwy 334) to Reservoir Rd in Town of Mohawk is passable just use caution Van Epps Rd from Mile Level Rd to Argersinger Rd in Town of Glen
A conference call is scheduled for 2 p.m. with National Grid to discuss further details and updates. During this time, additional information will be provided to the public.
Residents are urged to exercise caution and avoid areas with downed wires.
Please pay attention to road closure signs and refrain from unnecessary travel to ensure the safety of yourself and others. DPW crews, DOT, and first responders continue to address incidents and respond to calls for service.
