Mohawk Valley Today highlights farms in our region as part of our agricultural program. Since it’s prime apple picking season, we thought we’d share with you local farms and orchards that produce apples, provide u-pick opportunities, make apple cider, and more! Today, we’re excited to share several local orchards within easy driving distance right here in the Mohawk Valley!

It’s Apple Picking Season!

Sand Flats Orchard

Sand Flats Orchard is open daily from Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. until  6:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. They are located at 371 Martin Road, Fonda, NY. Rogers Family Orchard

Rogers Family Orchard is open daily 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and they are located at 260 County Road 131, Johnstown, NY. Rogers Family Orchard is a third generation orchard growing primarily apples. They grow other fruits and vegetables from blueberries and sweet corn to pumpkins. There’s a hard cider operation with a tasting room on the farm serving local beers and cocktails too. Currently offering U-Pick Apples or you can stop in the store for pre-bagged apples with two varieties and fresh apple cider available. Broadwell Dairy and Orchard

Broadwell Dairy and Orchard operates a local farm stand that is always open! They are located at 211 Mickle Rd in Sprakers, NY. They currently offer fresh apple cider along with their seasonal products such as quality, locally sourced dairy, beef, fruits and cider. Bellinger Orchard

Bellinger Orchard is open daily from 9:00 a.m. in til 5:00 p.m. They’re located at 685 Argersinger Rd in Fultonville, NY. Now open for apple picking, u-pick prices are a peck $15, 1/2 Bushel $30, and full bushel for $52. You can also find your perfect pumpkin in their pumpkin patch, try a visit to their corn maze and enjoy fresh homemade cider donuts and apple pies! North Star Orchards

North Star Orchards is open daily from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. North Star Orchards operates a full orchard and farm market store and they are located at 4741 NY-233 in Westmoreland, NY. They currently have a full selection of 12 varieties of apples that are already picked in the farmer’s market as well as full farm store selections of locally produced dairy, cheese, meats, produce and baked goods. The market is open 8 ½ months a year, has an impressive in-house bakery along with multiple greenhouses and cider press.

Middlefield Orchard

Middlefield Orchard is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. They are located at 2274 State Highway 166 in Cooperstown, NY. They offer over 20 varieties of apples and over 20 varieties of pumpkins that are all currently in season. It’s fall harvest season at its best at Middlefield Orchard.
