Gloversville Business Networking Event Slated for March 6th

Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market to Host from 8 to 9 a.m.

GLOVERSVILLE, NY –  Jennifer Donovan, the Gloversville Downtown Development Specialist (GDDS) at Fulton County Center for Regional Growth (CRG) is pleased to announce the next free business networking event, “Downtown Business Break,” will be held on Wednesday, March 6, from 8 to 9 a.m. at Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market, 30 N. Main St.

Bring brochures and share upcoming events

Participants are asked to bring brochures to swap and their calendar of events to share as the summer and tourism seasons will begin soon. Those in attendance will also learn about what Mohawk Harvest is, some of its programs and see the local products it offers such as items from Dygert Dairy Farm. As the host site this month, Mohawk Harvest will have coffee and refreshments on hand with specialty coffee available for purchase.

“The idea is to have a monthly business coffee break by meeting other members of the business community, networking, and visiting a business that you may not have been in yet,” said Jennifer Donovan. “The first one was held Feb. 7th at 44 Lakes Customized Gifts and Décor and about 30 people from Downtown Gloversville, Johnstown, Caroga and Fulton County business communities attended. Everyone had a great time getting to know one another and connecting so another event has been planned.”

While this event is geared towards Downtown Gloversville businesses and organizations, any business is welcome to come and network.

Businesses who host brochure racks are asked to attend and those who have brochures are ask to connect with them so the area is promoted for the upcoming tourism season. Organizations and venues that host events are welcome to bring their event calendars to share.

“Not only can the businesses help cross-promote one another and showcase the great happenings in our area, Fulton County Center for Regional Growth will be hosting a table at the Fulton-Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce Business Expo on March 27 and will take brochures to have at their space to give to participants at that event,” Donovan said.

Donovan said she will also have copies of a survey available for small business owners to fill out. “I am involved in a state downtown managers group, and we are meeting in Syracuse on March 7th. The discussion will include the needs of downtown businesses and organizations. This survey will only take a few minutes to complete, and I will bring the results with me to this important meeting in March. It’s important to have their input.” It is also available at https://form.jotform.com/DowntownGloversville/survey.

“Thank you to Kim Walter and Denise Dickson at 44 Lakes Customized Gifts and Décor for being February’s host location and thank you to Jeremy Krajewski and Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market for hosting this upcoming event,” Donovan said.
