Mohawk Valley Featured Weekend Events in Upstate NY: May 9-11, 2025.

This weekend features Mother’s Day on Sunday with plenty of exciting events happening throughout Upstate New York’s Mohawk Valley. Thanks to Canajoharie, Cobleskill, Frankfort, Old Forge, Gloversville, and more, for sharing your events with us! Fresh produce can be found this week at the Oneonta Winter Farmers’ Market, Gloversville Farmers Market, and the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market. Don’t forget to get local produce for your favorite recipes at area farm stores!

Old Forge Events

Spring Story Time at the Old Forge Library

Designed for children ages 3–6, Story Time is a fun, engaging experience led by a friendly and enthusiastic library staff. During these 45-minute sessions, children will enjoy a variety of activities, including storytelling, creative play, games, crafts, songs, and other interactive activities designed to inspire imagination and creative thinking. Geothermal Installation Educational Session at the Old Forge Library

The Old Forge Library, located at 220 Crosby Blvd., will host an informative session on geothermal heating and cooling on Friday, May 9, at 3 pm, presented by NP Environmental. A short reception with snacks will follow the presentation to celebrate the Library’s investment in a new geothermal heating and cooling system. Spring 2025 Edition of the Moonlight Market

The Spring 2025 Moonlight Market will take place ‘Rain or Shine’ and begins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2025 at the Frankfort Marina located at 122 Marina Drive, Frankfort, NY. This year’s market is a vibrant, community-driven evening event organized by three passionate volunteers. 2025 Art of NY: Annual Juried Art Show – Reception

The 2025 Art of NY: Annual Juried Art Show – Reception and Awards begins at 2:00 p.m. in the great Hall at the Ariel museum located at 2 Erie Blvd, Canajoharie NY. Meet artists from across New York State, check out the Juried Art Show, and enjoy light refreshments. This reception is free, and all ages are welcome. Gloversville Events

Micropolis Cooperative, Inc. Art Gallery, located inside the Mohawk Harvest Cooperative Market at 30 N. Main St., will host a “Meet the Artists Reception” on May 9 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., featuring pastels by guest artist Kathy VanLoan.

Schine Gallery, located on the third floor of Schine Memorial Hall, 40 N. Main St., continues to host its “Schine on Spring 2025” exhibit on May 10 and May 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Parade and Concert: Party Gras with the NolaNauts begins with parade and downtown festivities at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at the Glove Theatre located at 42 Main Street, Gloversville, NY. The Spring Psychic Faire, begins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10th, at the Fulton County Historical Society located at 237 Kingsborough Ave, Gloversville, NY. Join the Fulton County Historical Society and Into Wishin’ Studio & Crystal Shop for the Spring Psychic Faire! Intuitive readers from the Capital Region will be available for consultation and Into Wishin’ will offer a variety of crystals and other items for purchase. Explore the museum’s exhibits and hear evidence of spiritual activity in the building captured by paranormal investigators. Admission is $5 per person. The Gloversville Little League is celebrating their 70th Season at Parkhurst Field with opening day ceremonies on May 10 at 9 a.m. The event is open to the public and is at the Parkhurst Fields complex at 50 Harrison St. There will be activities and the concession stand will be open.

Farmers’ Markets

Get jams, honey and more at the Oneonta Winter Farmers Market from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays at Foothills located at 24 Market Street, the Gloversville Farmers Market takes place Saturday, May 10th, from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Elm Street Pavillion located at 9 Elm Street, Gloversville NY, and at the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There is still time to have fun during the “Hardy Locavore” challenge to reward shoppers at its Winter Saturday Markets. By shopping 10 times at the farmers’ market between January 11 and April 26, people will receive a free cotton canvas box tote.
