518 Concert Series at the Glove Theatre

The Glove Theatre’s 518 Concert Series continues today at 7:00 p.m. with TV Doctors, an experimental instrumental trio from Amsterdam, NY. Specializing in psychedelic rock, funk, surf, jazz, soul, dub, beats, and noises. Joining the TV Doctors for this event will be special guest Evan Gavry. 21+ to drink with valid I.D.

Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival

This year’s annual Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival takes place on Saturday from 10:00am until 5:00pm on at Canal Place in Little Falls, NY. The whole city will be buzzing with plenty of food and fun. Eat, Stink & Be Merry with the area’s best garlic growers, produce vendors, fine artisans, food product producers, herbs and flower vendors, festival cuisine, live entertainment, family activities, horse and carriage rides.

Canajoharie Street Fair

The Fair takes place starting at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024 in downtown Canajoharie at 24 Church Street, Canajoharie, NY. The Canajoharie Street Fair is an annual one-day event always taking place the second Saturday in September in the Village of Canajoharie (exit 29 off the NYS thruway). The event features vendors, food trucks, live music, parade, firemen’s water ball competition, and fireworks capping the day. (Rain or shine)

First Allies Craft Fair

The First Allies Craft Fair, takes place from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Fort Stanwix National Monument located at 100 N. James Street, Rome, NY. The Oneida Indian Nation, in partnership with Fort Stanwix National Monument and the Rome Historical Society, announces the return of the First Allies Craft Fair at Fort Stanwix in Rome on Saturday, September 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This family-friendly event is free to attend and will feature Oneida and Haudenosaunee arts, crafts and social dance exhibitions.

Utica Zoo Wildlife Festival

The Utica Zoo hosts its Wildlife Festival from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at the Utica Zoo located at Utica Zoo Way, Utica NY. In addition to the more than 40 interactive exhibits and 3-D movie permanently on display inside the New York Energy Zone, the Wildlife Festival will feature special activities across the grounds of both the Energy Zone and Utica Zoo, including live entertainment, Magic by Jim Okey, face painting, bounce houses, specialty vendors, arts and crafts activities, and so much more!

New this year an Electric Vehicle (EV) Exhibit. Check out some great EVs and learn what the New York Power Authority is doing to support long distance travel in an EV by installing Evolve NY fast chargers along major highways and corridors across NYS.

Farmers’ Museum Harvest Festival

Celebrate the bounty of fall as the Farmers’ Museum Harvest Festival returns to The Farmers’ Museum in Cooperstown, taking place Saturday and Sunday, September 14 and 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. both days. Since 1978, this family-friendly event has grown to become a regional favorite, bringing together a wide variety of performers, artisans, and vendors. Situated on the museum’s picturesque grounds near Otsego Lake, it offers the perfect blend of new attractions and trusted favorites. Visit FarmersMuseum.org for a complete schedule. One-day entry to Harvest Festival: $17.50 adults (13-64), $12.50 seniors (65+), $10 juniors (7-12), children 6 and younger and museum members are free.

Savor and Save: Food Preservation Classes

Join CCE Oneida for the Savor and Save: Food Preservation Class series starting Saturday, September 14th at 10:00 a.m. with a series focusing on storing, preserving, and savoring the produce you buy from the Oneida County Public Market (or other markets!). Attendees will review how to properly store fruits and vegetables for longer shelf life, freezing, dehydrating, canning, pickling, fermenting, and more! Sign up for one or all of these FREE events! These are beginner classes focused on exploring the basic tools and strategies for those new to food preservation. Classes will be offered from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the Oneida County Home and Farm, (CCE Office) Building on 121 Second Street in Oriskany. Class size is limited! Only 12 spots will be available per class so make sure to register!

Animal Embassy

Beginning at 2:00 p.m., Chris Evers of Animal Embassy will teach and entertain at the Glove Theatre on Main Street in Gloversville. Chris will take you on a journey around the globe with incredible live Animal Ambassadors from diverse habitats that have some amazing adaptations to help them survive. From the rain forest to the desert, from climbing to burrowing, animals have developed incredibly unique ways to survive. $5 Suggested Donation
