Registration is Open for the 3rd Annual Mohawk Valley Nonprofit Symposium
The Mohawk Valley Nonprofit Symposium returns on May 21, 2026, at Herkimer College, bringing together nonprofit leaders, board members, and community partners from across the region for a full day of learning, collaboration, and connection.
Now in its third year, the Symposium has quickly become a cornerstone event for the nonprofit sector in the Mohawk Valley. Designed with small and mid-sized organizations in mind, the day focuses on practical, real-world strategies that attendees can immediately apply within their own organizations. Sessions cover critical topics such as fundraising, governance, financial management, leadership, and emerging tools like artificial intelligence.
Next’s Executive Director, Michele Hummel shares, “At its core, this symposium is about community. It creates space for nonprofit leaders to come together, share challenges, learn from one another, and build something stronger together. The work happening across the Mohawk Valley is incredibly important, and this day is an investment in the people and organizations driving that impact every single day.”
What sets the Symposium apart is how it is built.
Programming is shaped directly by feedback from past attendees and the evolving needs of local organizations. Sessions are led by experienced practitioners and partners who understand the realities of operating in rural and small community settings, ensuring that content is both relevant and actionable.
With more than 150 attendees representing 11 counties in 2025, this year’s event is expected to welcome nearly 200 participants, continuing its growth as a regional hub for nonprofit capacity building.
Registration is now open.
Nonprofit professionals, board members, volunteers, and community stakeholders are encouraged to attend and be part of a day dedicated to strengthening the organizations that serve our region.
