Splash Pad Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Set for July 15th
GLOVERSVILLE, NY –Mayor Vincent DeSantis is pleased to announce the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the City of Gloversville’s new splash pad will be held on Saturday, July 15th at 10 a.m. at Trail Station Park on West Fulton Street.
This is the first phase of the expansion of Trail Station Park, which is one of the 12 transformative projects through the $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) grant that Gloversville was awarded through New York State. Prior to the DRI award, the City secured a $365,000 grant from the Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) to fund the expansion of the park and the splash pad itself. The expansion nearly doubles the size of the park with amenities and landscaping over a large area that was formerly a parking lot. The next phase of the project, funded through the DRI, will include a new 80’ x 20’ building to house restrooms, a kitchen area, and a large indoor space for special events.
