This weekend has events happening throughout the valley. Many thanks to Ilion, Old Forge, Gloversville and Little Falls for sending their events for us to share! Be sure to get fresh local produce like poultry, mushrooms, vegetables, eggs, honey, syrup and so much more at area farmers’ markets and farm stores across the Mohawk Valley!
Veggie Van Indoor Winter Market at the ARC Mall in Ilion
Get fresh produce at the Veggie Van Indoor Winter Market on Friday, January 10, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. “We’re thrilled to bring the Veggie Van Indoor Winter Market to Ilion and are so grateful for the partnership with ARC Herkimer,” said Garet Livermore, Executive Director of Cornell Cooperative Extension Herkimer County. “This market is an important step in promoting healthy living and community resilience by making fresh, nutritious foods accessible to everyone, regardless of the season.”
Community members are encouraged to stop by, stock up on delicious produce, and take part in fostering a healthier, more connected food system. The Veggie Van Indoor Winter Market is not just about food—it’s about bringing people together to celebrate health and local agriculture.
Penny Santy | Interconnected
Opening art exhibition featuring Syracuse based artist Penny Santy from 5 PM to 7 PM at 167 Genesee Street, Lower Level of the Westwood.
Penny has received local jury awards in both 2022 and 2023, and her artwork has been showcased in 1340 Art magazine. She identifies as a figurative abstract painter, capturing the connections between nature and humanity in her pieces.

Pom Pom Snowman Painting
Join the Arkell Museum and Canajoharie Library in the classroom on January 10, 2025, at 2 pm to paint adorable snowmen using pom poms as brushes. They have all the supplies. All you need is your creativity!

Lots to do at the Little Falls Library
Play Date at the Little Falls Library takes from 10:15 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Friday January 10, 2025 at the Little Falls Library located at 10 Waverly Place, Little Falls, NY. Bring your kids 3 years and younger to read a story, sing songs, do a craft and have fun! On Friday beginning at 3:00 p.m., Open When Letters are letters that you write to your future self or someone else, as a way of reminding the reader of their worthiness and ability to get through any situation.Join the Knitting and Crocheting Club on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. at the Little Falls Public Library. Local Artist Frank Wilcox Featured at The Renaissance Pub Gallery
Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts proudly presents a solo exhibition of works by artist Frank Wilcox at The Renaissance Pub gallery space. The exhibition opens January 11th and runs through February 1st, 2025, with an afternoon reception to meet the artist on January 11th from 3:00 to 5:00 PM.
Drop in Arts and Crafts– Creator Day at the Old Forge Library
This great family-friendly activity will take place on Saturday, January 11 from 11 am – 1:30 pm at the Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd. There will be stations to create poetry, collages, automatic writing, artist trading cards, and different art mediums. Participants will be able to try them all. Facilitators will be available to help everyone who comes create something special.
Enjoy Gloversville Events this weekend
Join 44 Lakes Customized Gifts and Decor, located at 15 N. Main St., Gloversville, for a fun and interactive class where adults and children can create unique, handmade Valentine’s Day decor on Jan. 10 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Enjoy a twist on traditional crafting with Theresa’s expert guidance. Dorn Space, located at 99 N. Main St., Gloversville, will host this Fridays Jan. 10 at 7 pm Doc, Liz and Tom (Doc Orloff Trio) in concert. NYS Blues Hall-of-Fame inductee, Doc Orloff and Fulton County fan-favorites, Tom Metallo and Liz Metallo will be presenting a special “listening room” concert experience featuring the Blues, Rhythm and Blues and Southern Rock. The Glove Theatre, located at 42 N. Main St., Gloversville, continues its 518 Concert Series with Luke Pavlus, an incredibly promising up-and-coming singer/songwriter from Gloversville, on Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. Luke is no stranger to The Glove Mainstage, having performed there since he was a kid. The Glove Theatre and Gloversville Recreation Commission’s yearly Free Family-Friendly Matinée Series kicks off its cinema portion with the mystical, lyrical Studio Ghibli hit, “Spirited Away” on Jan. 12 at 2 p.m. Free. The fanciful adventures of a ten-year-old girl named Chihiro, who discovers a secret world when she and her family get lost and venture through a hillside tunnel. When her parents undergo a mysterious transformation, Chihiro must fend for herself as she encounters strange spirits, assorted creatures and a grumpy sorceress who seeks to prevent her from returning to the human world.
Farmers’ Markets
Get fresh eggs, vegetables, honey and more, at farmers’ markets this weekend! In addition to the Veggie Van Indoor Winter Market in Ilion, get local produce at the Oneida County Public Market on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Don’t forget to have fun during the “Hardy Locavore” challenge to reward shoppers at its Winter Saturday Markets. By shopping 10 times at the farmers’ market between January 11 and April 26, people will receive a free cotton canvas box tote.
