Cooperstown Winter Carnival
The 57th Cooperstown Winter Carnival kicked off Thursday evening, January 30 and continues through Sunday, February 2, 2025 in Cooperstown, NY. This year’s theme “A Time To Shine In Wintertime”, submitted by H. Stephen Phillips, celebrates the whimsical, uplifting spirit of winter, setting the stage for a vibrant mid-season celebration for both locals and visitors. Eisenadler Brauhaus in Nelliston
Join Eisenadler Brauhaus on Saturday February 1, 2025 at 5:00 Join us for a Galentines Craft Event! For $60 come paint a gnome and enjoy Mexican Cuisine with a Cookie Sampler. Winter Carnival Free Concert
Fenimore Chamber Orchestra will present a free concert as part of the Cooperstown Winter Carnival on Saturday, February 1 at 12:30 p.m. in the Ballroom at the Village Library in Cooperstown. This family-friendly event will feature well-known works by Warlock, Holst, and Ellington and is free to all!
Cakewalk Benefit for the Cooperstown Food Pantry
On Sunday, February 2, Fenimore Chamber Orchestra will pair with Christ Church Episcopal to produce a Cakewalk Benefit for the Cooperstown Food Pantry. The event, to be held in the Christ Church Parish Hall, 69 Fair Street, Cooperstown, starts at 1:00 p.m., and will feature free hot chocolate and coffee, plus the opportunity to win fabulous baked goods donated by members of Christ Church and the Cooperstown community. Tickets for this family-friendly event are limited – only 50 contestants will be admitted! The cost is $10 per person or $30 per family, and 100% of your ticket price will benefit the Food Pantry.
Intro to Snowshoeing at Schoharie Crossing
Join in the fun as Paul delivers this Intro to Snowshoeing program at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 2nd. Learn basic snowshoe techniques and try them out using a pair of our snowshoes. You can bring your own if you have them. The Fort Plain Speaker Series with Martin Klotz
The Fort Plain Speaker Series takes place Sunday, Feb 2, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fulton Montgomery Community College Allen house (Bldg 8), 2805 State highway 67, Johnstown, NY as author Martin Klotz speaks on Sir William Johnson and Robert Rogers: The History of a Troubled Relationship. Martin Klotz is the author of Robert Rogers, Ranger, The Rise and Fall of an American Icon.

Grilled Cheese for a Good Cause
Join us on Sunday, February 2 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market for Grilled Cheese for a Good Cause. This fundraiser for the year-round Cooperstown Farmers’ Market features gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches made with cheese by favorite local chefs, plus delicious soup and yummy desserts. Live music and a raffle too. Your ticket includes a selection of gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches featuring local cheeses, fabulous chef-made soups and desserts, and a complimentary beverage (beer, wine or cider). Tickets are $35 for adults, $15 for children 6-12 years old. No charge for children under 6.
Lyons Family Homestead Farm Walks
The inaugural Caroga Winter Carnival will take place Friday, Jan. 31-Sunday, Feb. 2 and it will offer three days of events and activities throughout the entire town.
Some scheduled events include: Caroga Outhouse Races are back! Vintage Snowmobile Show, Snowmobile Poker Run, Fat Bike Clinic at Wheelerville Trails, Fireworks over Caroga Lake, kids ice fishing clinic, sled party, Olympic Winter Games, X-C ski, snowshoe, Royal Mountain skiing/snowboarding, chili cook-off, winter volleyball tournament, live music, food, beverage and of course cocoa! Enjoy Gloversville Events this weekend
Get Zep at the Glove Theatre
On January 31st at 7:00 p.m., The Glove Theatre, 42 N. Main St., will host the band Get Zep!, a band that performs Led Zepplin songs. Tickets are $25 for table seats and $20 for general admission. Tickets available at: Get Zep 518 Concert Series.
Dorn Space
On February 2 at 2:00 p.m., Dorn Space, located at 99 N. Main St., will host an open mic event. Performances can include family-friendly music, poetry, prose, preaching, prayer, storytelling, comedy, for up to seven minutes a spot. Admission is free. Donations appreciated. Doors open and sign-up begins at 1:15 pm.
Jazz Performance at Karpeles Museum
On February 1st, Karpeles Museum, located at 66 Kingsboro Ave., will host a performance by Eric Barber (saxophone) and Michael Bisio (bass) at 7:00 p.m. There is a $20 suggested donation.
FREE Family Matinee – Newsies Film
On February 2 at 2:00 p.m. The Glove Theatre, located at 42 N. Main St., along with the Gloversville Recreation Commission, will host the free showing of “Newsies: The Broadway Musical” movie. Filmed live on stage at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, CA, this not-to-be-missed high energy show stars Original Broadway cast members Jeremy Jordan as “Jack Kelly,” Kara Lindsay as “Katherine,” Ben Fankhauser as “Davey” and Andrew Keenan-Bolger as “Crutchie”. They’re joined by North American Tour stars Steve Blanchard as “Joseph Pulitzer,” and Aisha de Haas as “Medda Larkin,” and Ethan Steiner as “Les” along with members of both the Broadway and North American Tour ensembles, filling the stage with more “newsies” and more dancing than ever before. Set in New York City at the turn of the century and based on a true story, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenaged ‘newsies,’ who dreams only of a better life far from the hardship of the streets. But when publishing titans Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack finds a cause to fight for and rallies newsies from across the city to strike and take a stand for what’s right.
Farmers’ Markets
Get fresh eggs, vegetables, honey and more, at farmers’ markets this weekend! Get local produce the Oneida County Public Market on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Don’t forget to have fun during the “Hardy Locavore” challenge to reward shoppers at its Winter Saturday Markets. By shopping 10 times at the farmers’ market between January 11 and April 26, people will receive a free cotton canvas box tote.
