Mohawk Valley Featured Weekend Events in Upstate NY: March 14-16
It would be hard to miss this weekend’s St. Patrick’s Day events across the Mohawk Valley! Communities, nonprofits, organizations and groups all across the region are joining in the festivities with fun for the whole family! Many thanks to Amsterdam, Gloversville, Little Falls, Old Forge, Oriskany, Utica and more for sharing events with us! Remember to stock up on fresh produce at the Oneonta Winter Farmers’ Market, and Cooperstown Farmers’ Market. Don’t forget to get local produce for your favorite recipes at area farm stores!
St. Patrick’s Day Parade Gear Party at the Old Forge Library
The Old Forge Library, 220 Crosby Blvd., is hosting a festive, family-friendly St. Patrick’s Day Gear Party for all, on Friday, March 14, between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Bring your imagination and decorate a shirt, hat, or bandana with stickers, stencils, patches, and craft materials. Supplies are provided by the library free of charge. Your friends at the library will help you get into the spirit of the local festivities before the Central Adirondack Association’s Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on State Route 28 at 5:15 pm.
Old Forge St Patrick’s Day Parade
The Old Forge St. Patricks Day Parade begins at 5:15 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, on Main Street, in Old Forge. Whether you want to join the parade or just enjoy the show, everyone is welcome. There will be judges and 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes so bring on the competition! Apple Tree Grafting Workshop
Join farmer and organic orchardist Jason Townsend of Kingfisher Farm for a hands-on session of Apple Tree Grafting on Friday, March 14, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Cost of the workshop is $75 per person. Workshop will be held at CCE Oneida County office, located at 121 Second Street, Oriskany. Register online at https://reg.cce.cornell.edu/applegrafting2025_230. Each participant will be able to graft and prepare 5 trees to bring home with them!

The Utica St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, along Genesee Street in downtown Utica. Join in the fun along with thousands of friends, as the community comes together to celebrate the vibrant Irish culture that holds a special place in our cherished city. It’s a day to honor tradition, community, and the spirit of Ireland that runs deep within us all.
Amsterdam St. Paddy’s Day Fest
The 9th Annual St. Paddy’s Day Pub Fest takes place from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, in multiple locations throughout the City of Amsterdam. Be one of the first 20 people to visit Lyon St. Bar and Grill, Herk’s Tavern, Rug City Bar and Lounge or the American Legion Post 701 and you’ll get a FREE Pub Fest Shirt. Designated driver’s wrist bands can be picked up at Anthony’s Deli & Market and Tumans.
Young Virtuoso Concert
Join the Fenimore Chamber Orchestra for an unforgettable afternoon of music for the Young Virtuoso Concert at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Christ Church Episcopal Church located at 46 River Street in Cooperstown. This special concert shines a spotlight on the winner of our inaugural Young Person’s Concerto Competition, a nationwide search that drew 22 outstanding young musicians from nine states.
Mini Showcase Concert
A Mini Showcase Concert of the the String Program and Arts Collaborative Education Program is presented by the Caroga Arts Collective begins at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the Paul Nigra Center located at 2736 Route 30, Gloversville. Sugaring Off Sundays Return to Fenimore Farm in March
Sugaring Off Sundays Sundays with plenty of maple sugaring activities and pancake breakfasts begins at 8:30 a.m. on March 16, 2025, at Fenimore Farm and Country Village located at 5775 NY-80, Cooperstown. Breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m. with events and activities planned from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Pricing: Adults/Teens (ages 13+) $15 / $14 members, Kids (ages 6-12) $10 / $9 members, and Lil’ Ones (ages 5 and under) are FREE. Reservations are not required.
Farmers’ Markets
Get fresh vegetables, honey and more at Oneonta Winter Farmers Market from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays at Foothills located at 24 Market Street, and at the Cooperstown Farmers’ Market on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Don’t forget to have fun during the “Hardy Locavore” challenge to reward shoppers at its Winter Saturday Markets. By shopping 10 times at the farmers’ market between January 11 and April 26, people will receive a free cotton canvas box tote.
