NYS Woodsmen’s Field Days

The 77th NYS Woodsmen’s Field Days will be held from August 16th through August 18th (Rain or Shine) at the Boonville Oneida County Fairgrounds. Following tradition, this year’s event promises to be an exciting time for everyone. As always, the Woodsmen’s Field Days continues its celebration of the rich history and tradition of forestry and logging. Competitions including the Lumberjack and Lumberjill Championships along with the Junior Lumberjack Championships. These competitions are a must-see that are packed with plenty of excitement! Something for everyone at the Woodsmen’s Field Days
The Woodsmen’s Field Days offer the perfect opportunity to enjoy events and competitions in the scenic Mohawk Valley. Be sure to take advantage of the Farmers’ Market, auctions, wine tasting, craft fair, food, music, fireworks, and more. Favorite events include the tug of war, greased pole, beards contest, 10K Foot Race and walk, and the Field Days Parade.
Who will win this year’s competitions?
The Woodsmen’s Field Days have many exciting competitive events along with entertainment, industry leading sponsors, vendors and suppliers available to help and educate the public on the latest tools and equipment. If you have interest in wood working or work within the logging industry, build structures, use firewood to heat your home, or create wood products as part of your business, then visiting the many vendors are sure to give you plenty of information and ideas for your projects.
Field Days competitors will come from all over the country and throughout the world to compete in Boonville.
The Northeast Junior Lumberjack event is to be held on Saturday, August 17th at the site of Indian River Olde Time Lumberjack Show. (Next to the green and white Wood Crafts Building).
World’s Open Lumberjill Championships
The World’s Open Lumberjill Championships for 2024 will be decided on Saturday, August 17th with contests that include log rolling, chainsawing, axe throwing, two-woman crosscut, Jack & Jill crosscut, bow sawing, horizontal log chop, one-woman Crosscut, speed chopping and fire Building.
NYS Woodsmen’s Open Championship Lumberjack
On Sunday, August 18th, get ready for the NYS Men’s Open Lumberjack Championship with contests in chainsawing, one-man crosscut, Jack & Jill crosscut, two-man crosscut, bow sawing, axe throwing, tree felling, log chopping, log rolling, standing block chop and springboard chop.
