Jim explains, “The Vehicles for Veterans Car Show is one of the very first events held during our national Step Up for Veterans campaign which kicks off nationally in about a week. We are encouraging individuals, organizations and corporations to take the opportunity to join us as we Step Up to help more injured veterans than ever before!

We’re are so grateful to organizations and volunteers like the folks at the Walmart Distribution Center in Marcy. We could not do what we do without support from individuals and organizations across the country. “

About Building Homes for Heroes

Building Homes for Heroes builds custom homes from the ground up, renovates existing homes and donates them mortgage-free to severely injured veterans and their families. This year the charity is taking a Big Step Up with additional programs and support for injured veterans and their families. These programs support physical wellness and mental wellbeing, financial wellness, academic and entrepreneurial opportunities, athletics and therapeutics recreation programs.

Jim added, “Building Homes for Heroes has learned over the years that while relieving the financial burden of home ownership through the donations of mortgage-free homes to injured veterans and their families, there is still much to be done. They need so much more support to help them on their road to healing and recovery after all they’ve been through.”

Army SPC Michael Villagran received his home in 2018 and has benefited from the programs offered through the charity. Thanks to the support of Building Homes for Heroes, Michael was part of the U.S. National Paralympic team and competed nationally in the Skelton, winning a Gold medal in 2022 at Lake Placid.
