Spooky Events in the Mohawk Valley

It’s spooky season in the Mohawk Valley and there are events perfect for those who enjoy a good story tied to local ‘haunts.’

We learned on our recent Candlelight Ghost Tour of Hyde Hall that as the weather gets cooler and the nights get longer, it can be quite comforting to sit around a cozy fire in the evening with family and friends. The comfort of good company, a warm fire on a cold night, and perhaps a tipple of brandy to warm the spirit and loosen the imagination, inevitably led to the telling of ghost stories.

On these long, cold, dark nights, strange sounds in dark rooms and a little imagination can be quite spooky.

And if you are looking for a few new ghost stories to hear and experience, we have found a few opportunities for you to experience first hand, stories of ghosts, hauntings, and unsettled spirits walking the halls of old houses, theaters, museums, and farm.
