The Herkimer County Historical Society works hard discovering, collecting, preserving and publishing the history, historical records and data related to the area in central New York formerly known as Tryon which later became Herkimer County. Their team of dedicated individuals organize and host events throughout the year highlighting Herkimer County’s long and deep history while bringing together people from the surrounding communities.

Take some time to visit the Herkimer County Historical Society at the Eckler House and get to know the folks while perusing exhibits and books available highlighting local history.
